Five-member singing group Bing Bang published a book on life story on January 28. The book  titled “Shout yourself to the world – Rushing to the dream, 13,140 days’ challenge of Big Bang” became a national besteller selling more than 100,000 copies just within 10 days after publication.

Big Bang had a press conference on February 6 to promote the book and answer questions.

Q. Give us introduction of the book.

(T.O.P) I know there were lots of talks about us, a band, writing a book. Please understand the book is nothing but honest stories about how we lived. I will be happy if as many people as possible will share the stories.

(Daesung) This book is not to boast about our success but talk about our experiences so far frankly.

(G. Dragon) Just like Daesung said, the books is not a success story. It is meant to convey our dreams and hopes to people out there. Reading this book, you will know we are not overnight stars but reached our current position by making lots of efforts.

(Tae-yang) I hope this book will be of any help to young guys dreaming of becoming a singer.

(Seung-ri) At first, all five member were puzzled when the idea of writing a book came up. But after all, we really did our best to tell our stories from the beginnning.

Q. What part of the book about other member were most impressive?

(Tae-yang) Stories of G. Dragon who I have been together the longest were the most impressivel

(G. Dragon) Each part written by each member showed his true color, I think.

(Seung-ri) Big brothers who showed me only their toughest sides also had difficult times. I felt that they are also human like me.

Q. What made Big Bang so successful as to make a book about themselves?

(Seung-ri) We really did our best and helped each other to go to the next level. That’s why people love us.

(Tae-yang) Passion for music, I guess.

(G. Dragon) Strong will for music

(Daesung) We are what we are now because of our dream. Dream is important.

(T.O.P) Lots of things made our success possible. But, for me, more than anything else, it was our parents’ love who always encouraged us.

Q. How much do you read?

(T.O.P) a book a week.

(Daesung) Just one or two per month. I usually spend long time on one book.

(G. Dragon) We live together in the same place. Fans send many books to our place. I try hard to read them all.

(Tae-yang) Before I sleep, if a book occurs to my mind. I pick it up and read.

(Seung-ri) I am trying to read as much as other members do. At school, I would love romance. Now I am more interested in success stories.

Q. G. Dragon, you write songs yourself.  What, do you think, is the best among them?

(G. Dragon) I love every single of them. If I have to choose one, it is “Haru Haru”.

Q. What’s your future plan?

(G. Dragon) Maybe I will be the first among members to do solo. Coming April or May, I will come up with a solo album. Tae-yang will follow with his solo album.  These days, I am making a detailed concept of the solo album.

(Tae-yang) I am doing the same thing.
