The new TV show just released Jan. 5^th 2009. It is originally a cartoon written by Kamio Yoko and published 17 different countries. It also has been used of a movie and TV shows from Japan and China. It is so much well known and loved story for huge fans all over the world. What do fans want to see from this new TV show? I think it is obvious that they all want to have the nostalgia when they first read the comic many years ago. It is usually never enough to fulfill everyone’s fantasy with real people. However, the first day of the show promises some good responses from the general viewers throughout Korea.

 

 

The first scene of this show was very interesting. A male student gets a red card on his locker issued from F4, the most famous 4 students of the school. As soon as it is known to other students all of them starts to bully on him. It is the sign of getting rid of him from their prestigious school. He finally gives up and tries to suicide from the roof top of a building. All the students are happily waiting and capturing the moment with their cell phone cameras for him to jump off from it. He says to all of them, “This is what you all want. All right. I will do it.” He is about to jump off the building but a delivery girl just gets there with his dry cleaned clothes and calls him to pay for it. She does not seem to get what is going on there and tries to bargain the price with the suicide attempter. He finally jumps off the building but she catches him and saves his life.

It was dramatic start and good to grab a hold of people’s attention from the very first day. 14.3% of viewers watched the first show whereas 28% and 7.6% of viewers watched The East of Eden(MBC) and Terroir(SBS) respectively. It looks like a smooth start with lots of attention and the fans just want to watch how well the actors and actresses handle their roles.
