Jang Dong-gun announced that he is getting married to Go So-young last week and it was a big surprise to his fans as well as the entertainment industry in Korea.  I have seen his works from very beginning until recently since I was born the same year and he was keeping showing his work from the media.  I didn’t like his act when he played very TV drama at Our Paradise (Uri durie chunguk), 1993.  He wasn’t competent enough to be called a good actor yet but had a good looking and a great smile.  I didn’t think he will be this much famous when I watched his act but he was a totally different performer at the movie, Friend, 2001.  I was personally very surprise of his excellent gangster work from the piece and knew he will most likely long run in the film industry.

He has become so successful and well-known actor that he could have bragged about his fortune and lived like the most celebrities do but he seems to choose to have his life simple and humble.  He has made all his money and didn’t make a charity foundation publicly but he didn’t waste it either.  I think that is as hard as donating big chunk of it when you have so much in your hand.

Anyway, basically he is very nice guy with money and fame and great body that almost all the woman dream about.  He could have chosen a 10 years younger hot and sexy girl in the world if he wants.  He didn’t even have to marry and enjoy multiple hot chicks for ever if he wants but he chooses Go So-young, no offense.

For the record, Miss Go also one of the successful and hottest actress in Korea that so many prominent and affluent bachelors would love to be settled with.  She was chosen by Jang.  So many people including me and all of my friends are thinking that she hit a jackpot without what have happened between them.  I think it is because Jang Dong-gun has never have any rumors or problems while she had some.  Without knowing the truth, I can’t say anything further about the rumors but what is important is our Mr. Nice Guy wouldn’t mind that and has chosen her as a future wife.

He announced his wedding not in front of press conference but in his fan meeting, Jang Dong-gun Story 2010.  There has been some critics and complaints from the media that he didn’t tip it to media before hand but I think it is another considerate part of him.  He clearly shows that he cares more about his fans than media.  Of course not many entertainers can’t even think about doing this when media has so much power to manipulate them when they are not their favorite.  He has guts and also love for them I may add.

In his statement of marriage at the meeting, he simply said how much he thought about his life while he was alone in overseas and realized whom he really wanted to be with.  That was the woman who had been just a friend for a long time and he felt different about her and he ended up want to be with her forever.  It described that nothing but a normal person’s feeling towards a female friend and love her at last.  He didn’t really care anything about other factors but the chemistry changes between two normal individuals.  I just can’t love this man enough!!!!

He also didn’t forget to put his humbleness in the statement.  He is having a great time choosing the finest wife of his lifetime but he also doesn’t want to upset any people who undergo hard time from whatever reason socially and economically now.  He promised to have a small wedding without press, just invite their close friends and families.  As I read more and more about him, I fall in love him more and more.

I really hope that he could have a very happy and successful wedding and married life as well as his and his future wife’s careers.

Quite moderate ratings given their status in Asian market. But even from my viewpoint as a Korean, the post is not totally wrong.

For example, one of the problems with these stars – raised by the post repeatedly – is their less than satisfactory level of English and I agree with that. If you are not planning to settle in supporting roles in Kung-fu action movies, you have to be absolutely natural – not native -  in speaking English. It just seems to me none of these stars reached that point of proficiency.

Just take a look at the video clip of Bae seul-ki where she speaks opening lines. Although she speaks decent English from non-Amerian standard, she just sounds awkward. I am not saying that she should sound like a native American. With or without native accent, your English should convey your emotion. She doesn’t do that here.

Another argument given by the post is that Koreans cannot succeed just by copying already-in-the-market American style. That’s why Seven got the worst point. He sounds just outdated to American, the post says.  All the three singers in the post are actually doing that. The problem is Korean guys singing hip-hop just like Black-Amercan stars would be nothing more than a subject of passing curiosity. The same applies to a Korean girl singing a lyric like I’ll eat you up. Does that aggressively sexual line even match her cute look?  The bottom line is they should offer something unique than copycat styles.

The website looks much better than the previous one. It has Lee min-ho’s profile, filmography, photo gallery, video clips and recent news. It could have been better with English page considering there are many fans outside Korea.

Aside from the official website, Lee min-ho also has many fan communities in Korea. A fan club internet community named DAVE is known to have more than 100,000 members.

Now, all kinds of speculations are crowding among the viewers after seen this picture.  It looks obvious that Jun-pyo and Jae-kyung will be in a wedding ceremony as a bride and groom in Jeju island.  They might just get married and nothing would happen or Jun-pyo had to do something to stop the wedding.

The most important point is that viewers want to see something unusual from the drama.  Who would wants to see too obvious endings from a fantasy style drama like this one?  The producer of BOF would be in a big trouble because the wedding itself was the shocking event for the viewers when it was not leaked.

There is a teaser clip from the BOF site.  Jun-pyo asks Jae-kyung that he has a woman whom he loves for the first time and he only loves her until he dies.  And he continues that if she would like to marry him.  Jae-kyung simply said yes.  There seems no way out for Jun-pyo.  She loves him so much that no matter what he does and what he thinks these are not the distractions for her.

Jae-kyung even asks Jandi to be her bridesmaid.  Isn’t it too cruel setting for Jandi?  She had to let go of her only lover to her friend.  On top of that she had to be right there in the process of letting him go.  I think she wouldn’t do it if it were real.  The producer wants to draw more attentions from viewers with this unusual situations and wants to show Jandi’s look with the white dress.  I think his scheme has worked out so far.

Of course there will be Jun-pyo’s best friends, F4-1, at the wedding to show us how they would look with tuxedoes.  Jun-hee will be another factor that might change Jun-pyo’s mind.  The episode on this Monday showed that she kept reminding her mistake to let her love go because of her mom.  She wouldn’t want to just watch her brother’s loveless wedding ceremony.

I don’t know if it would be a happy ending or not.  Some people said it might be a day dream from Jandi.  I don’t like the day dreaming ending idea the most among many thoughts.  It had to be something better than just a absurd ending.  It has to be for so many viewers’ sake.  The ending story is undecided and the producer and other staffs are thinking about to make the best one.  The last episode, 25th, will be on air on the 31st of March.  We will see how it would come up with.

Her Levi’s commercial clips were released finally and amazed to look at her beautiful lines with the jeans.  I still think that other long legged fashion models would look better with them but she really looked awesome.  Then I realized why she was chosen for them.  She is the perfect proof that Levi’s is not only for a tall and long legged women but shorter people like her could wear them.  I think it might work well and sell more jeans this spring and summer seasons in Korea.

As you can see, the photographer avoided the full length cut with her standing up straight.  He might think that would not be the best cut for her commercial shots but I disagree.  Once he chose her to model for the jeans, he should show the most basic shot, standing straight, for the jeans commercial.  Without looking at the cut, it is not easy to distinguish whether they are stylish for shorter person like her or me or not.  I am pretty sure that her look would be great with it.

She is wearing very expensive jeans on these cuts.  The twinkling things on her back pocket are Swarovski diamonds.  I just couldn’t imagine who would want to put the precious stones on woman’s butt.  It wouldn’t be easy to sit down and drag her butt when she had to scoot over on any kind of seats because they might get scratched or even fall out.

It also would be little bumpy to sit on them and make the nice diamond mark on her butt when she decide to sit and read her book for some time.  These are not the only problems when I think about it.  How are you going to put them in washer and dryer?  If you dry them on a rope in your back yard, you need to put your security to guard them not to be stolen.  It is good looking on her butt but causes lots of problems, I think.

The least like shot is this.  It looks not natural and tries hard to show her leg in the longest angle.  Take a look at the height of her heels.  Why does she have to wear this much high heels to stress her short height?

Boys over Flowers had another accident itself.  Jang Ja-yeon played as Park Sun-ja (Sunny) role among the three bad girls who gave Jandi hard times.  She was found death by hang at stairs in her own house on the 7th.  Her elder sister found her and called the police immediately.  They are still investigating as I wrote but it seemed like no other hurts and struggled marks were found other than the rope around her neck from her body so far.

BOF staffs and stars were just stunned and didn’t know what to do and say after hearing her death.  She was a happy person and had a great deal of enthusiasm for her work, the staffs said.  No one expected her sudden suicide and couldn’t believe that she is not with them anymore.  On her funeral hall, there were many stars including F4, Lee So-eun, and Gu Hye-sun already visiting and seemed to realize that her death is real.

Fans of her also are in shock and have been writing their sorrows on the net.  We all remember her beautiful image from the Baeksang Arts Awards on the 27th of Feb.  That was the last time we saw her alive from a live TV.  She looked so pretty with her white dress with bright smile.  She looked so happy that she gave Lee Minho a big clap with grin on her face when he got his rookie of the year award.  The image we have seen from TV and her death were not matched at all.

Boys over Flowers are having great love from the viewers all throughout ages in Korea but big and small accidents are not stopping recently.  I really hoped that Gu Hye-sun’s accident would be the last one for the drama but the biggest accident followed right after it.  Her funeral hall is in Seoul National University Hospital at Bundang and BOF staffs and stars visited around 6 o’clock on the 8th. right after working on the drama.

Depression found another victim?  Not like her image in public, she was lonely and sad in her private life.  She lost both of her parents by car accident about ten years ago.  She had lived with her elder sister ever since.  It must be so hard for her to live without them all of a sudden and depression came to her.  Her sister testified that she had been depressed and wanted to be left alone at home recently.  It is so sad to hear that the bad disease  killed another precious life.

I am really sorry about her sadness that caused her death.  I feel so small that I couldn’t do anything about it even though I knew her.  I hope no other person go through the misery that she had.  Please God, pity on her soul.

They were having coffee at a cafe in Samchung-dong in Seoul at night.  Although it was a very populated place, they had chosen a place that not many people around.  There were some people recognized their faces since they looked taller and attractive looking than normal people and are the top stars in Korea.  Who wouldn’t recognize them if they were close by?  They were wearing nothing fancy and didn’t really care much about other people’s stares.

I think that was what really happened that night between them but many reporters wrote the titles like they go out together or dating in the middle of the night.  I think they just met and had a coffee not at their work but some place nice before Jo In-sung joins the military duty on April this year.  Isn’t it obvious that you would like to have at least a quiet dinner or have a coffee when someone you know or you work with will go to some unpleasant places for two years?  I just can’t believe that this was even an issue on entertainment news lately.

If I have to think about what made them get close, Hyun-jeong is from Jeolla province and In-sung went to his college in that area.  They also were starred on a drama Bomnal (The Spring Days) in 2005.  It was the first drama after she was divorced and there were many reporters wanted to know about her back-to-single life.  I guess In-sung would be the great target to put him on her side and make a good story.

I don’t know if they really go out or not, but I think it should be kept between them until they are willing to share their story in public.  Am I just writing a stupid and imaginative story here?  Maybe I am but I really want to let my favorite stars have a decent privacy.  They would love to go out with their good friends.  They would love to have a fantastic love and they don’t want to be bothered as much as you want to have a private moment with your loved ones.  They are no better or worse than us once you get to know them.  Let’s not forget about this.

Seung-ri first reminded reporters that he and Kang hye-jung belong to the same agency.  He said “Kang hye-jeong first invited me to act together in the movie. I was so happy to hear than and decided to join.”

He added, “I did my best. My performace may not be unsatisfactory sometimes, but I would like to ask audiences to give me some slack as this is my first time as an actor.”

Kang hye-jeong spoke highly of seung-ri’s performance. “This was his first time in movie but he absorbed everything he needs to learn just like a sponge. He acted just as he was asked to.”

The movie “why did you come to our house” begins with unexpected intrusion by a mysterious girl (Kang hye-jeong) into the house of a suicide addict (Park hee-soon). The girl has three previous conviction for the charge of stalking a man (seung-ri) although she is just in one-sided love by mistaking a casual gentleness of the man as love.

It is the first movie directed by Hwang soo-ah who studied movie in New York State university and got attention for her short film “Decalcomanie” in 2001. The movie will be shown on April 9.

The main characters of Star’s Lover are on their way to Tokyo, Japan on the 12th. for promoting the drama.  It is going to be on Japanese cable channel, Wowow TV, on May and KNTV on June.  It looks like everything is already set for another hit Korean drama in Japan.  Choi Ji-woo and Bae yong-jun got so much famous after Winter Sonata was played in Japan and their popularity has never stop grown there.

Based on her many fans in Japan, Star’s Lover was planned and made aiming toward specifically Japanese fans, I think.  It tried to show her natural beauty without too much make up and fancy clothes which are common looks for big stars.  Japanese fans might have chance to imagine her private life style through this drama because it showed a lot about how much she loves a person and wants to get together no matter what happen to her life and career.

There is another interesting issue about her private life.  Her real date was spotted and released on the press.  Japanese fans really want to hear from her directly how much feeling she has on him and other personal life relating to the drama.  It should be interesting to watch what she will say in talk show in Japan which is already scheduled.  There will be no way to leave this issue alone during the show and I think she is probably well prepared for it.

The drama Air City, which Choi Ji-woo and Lee Jin-wook both played there, was played on Wowow TV in 2007 and Lee Jin-wook is not a new face for Japanese fans.  Now we know that he is her boyfriend and it made the popularity of Air City also increase in there.  I don’t know how much more fans she could have this year introducing her new drama and boyfriend in Japan, but one thing for sure is she and her dramas have  already drown lots of attention.

“Scream” is a horror-and-mystery story about a possessed girl and fanaticism about cult religion. It is the first movie of director Lee yong-joo who participated in the making of “Memory of  murder”   The role Nam sang-mi will play is the heroine Hee-jin who tries to find her missing sister and find surprising secrets while following her traces.

For Nam sang-mi, this is comeback to the screen since 4 years after the last movie “Kangryeok 3 Ban” (English title: Never to lose).

The hero of the movie will be played by Ryu seung-ryong who showed a good performance in “Baram ui Hwawon (The painter of winds)”.  Ryu will act a police detective who investigates questionable deaths of people who insist that the missing girl is possessed.

Scream will start shooting in March to show in coming summer.
