Muhan Dogeon (Infinite Challenge) showed another hilarious parody music video.  They are Jung nyeon Sidae(Mid-age Generation) instead of Girls’ Generation.

Their show on TV brought their popularity up so high again.  It was not so great after Haha went to his military service and Jun Jin filled his gap.  I didn’t really want to watch it after that.  However, their parody music video and dramas brought me back to watch their shows again.  I guess I am not the only one doing it.  Their viewer rating has gone up sharply and defeated all the competitive variety shows.

I kind of shocked to see them because I had never expected they would parody on Girls’ Generation.  It was obvious that they must do on Boys over Flowers since it is so popular and many people are the main characters just like the Muhan Dojeon team.  But it was totally unexpected.

Take a look at their gross and funny faces that they tried their best to look like GG.

Jae-suk tried hard to look like Yoona.  He acted cute but couldn’t do anything about his face.

Myung-su became Jessica.  He named him Myungssica.  It was another shocker after jun-pyo parody from two weeks ago.  He wore the cute little hat that Jessica wore in her music video, Gee.

Jun-ha was Sunny and he became Jungangsunny.  What a name!  He got his nickname, Jungang, when a hair dresser misunderstood his name as Jungang, not Jun-ha.  He was just so big and ugly looking but tried to pose cut.

Jun-jin(Jan-jin) took Hyo-yeon role.  He is the only one who look handsome among the members.  His female role looked alright to me compare to others in here.  He looked good on Jandi role also from the last time.

Oh, look at his face!  Isn’t it disgusting?  He tried to look like the cute Tae-yeon since he is her husband role in We Are Married, MBC TV.  It was weird to look at the mismatched couple from the show and now, he tried to look like her.  He made me laugh so hard and long.  Yeah, yeah, you are a funny man, Dontaeyeon.

Take a look at his female looking face with his beard.  His nickname in Muhan dojeon is Dol + Ai.  I thought it meant Rock + A Boy but I also felt that he might be Rock + Eye.  His eyes in this video was so scary.

He is preparing to look like Tiffany.  I guess Tiffany might laugh so hard when she saw this program and I think they might watch it all together since they were parodied in here.  I just can’t imagine how much fun they would have watching their ridiculous sing and dance.

They didn’t just make a funny music video but they also made a campaign song to reduce energy.  That’s why it is Energee instead of Gee, GG’s most popular music.  I think it is very creative and fun.  Their fame wasn’t built overnight.

Take a look at the sticker on the windshield.  It means the car rests on Saturdays for saving energy.  Hyung-don looked so frustrated because he couldn’t use his car for the resting schedule.  Look at these clowns.  I just couldn’t believe how much I laughed when I saw it the first time.

Their dance choreography looked quite close to their original one.  The only difference between the two was it was so hilarious instead of cute and loveable of the original one.  Anyway, it was worth watching and gave me a good laugh.  Well done, boys!!

These guys did it again.  They got their fame back with defeating all the other variety shows as far as the popularity concerns.  They really know how to make parodies and work so hard for them.  I am going to show some of the clips of their most hilarious parody, The remake of Boys of Flowers episode 1.

Of course, Park Myung-su had to be Gu Jun-pyo although he is shorter and less handsome than the real one.  His sickly vomit arousing rich man act is the top of the world for sure.

The fake F4 is coming with a dazzling light on their back.  They knew they had to make this scene really nice to get viewers’ attention.  It actually looked better than I thought.  I thought they might look silly but they rather look more like gross.  Take a look at Yu Jae-suk holding a violin.  He looks like do something with it but I didn’t know what he would do with it.

Jandi and Jun-pyo’s first meeting scene.  All of a sudden, in the middle of their conversation, Jihu started playing the violin.  I laughed out so loud to look at him.  Their conversation or acts were not so funny but THE VIOLIN made it all different.  This guy is nuts.

The process of the scene was so fast that they had to show so much there due to their low budget and time.  They just met but Jun-pyo declared that Jandi is his girlfriend and then Jihu interrupted him and kissed Jandi.

This time, Jun-pyo was kissing Jandi.  It looked like Jun-pyo was shorter than Jandi.  They were really making out.  So gross!!!  The King of comedy Park Myung-su.  I don’t want to say anything about him any more.  I don’t know what Shinwah fans might think when they saw this.  But that’s OK.  It is Myung-su.  He will survive from anyone.

“Happy Sunday” invites a famous singer and gives hosts and guests  a chance to learn the singer’s hit songs and be evaluated by the singer him/herself.

There was a session in the show that actors and actresses close to Im send  video messages to him. One of them were Kim Sun-ah.

Kim Sun-ah, who  previously co-starred with Im in the movie “the greatest expectation”, recommended Im’s song “dance with a wolf”. Hosts of the show told Im chang-jeong that Kim sun-ah kept saying lots of good things about him and she even said that Im is the one who gave her the courage to act.

In her video message, Kim sun-ah said “the dance in the song ‘dance with a wolf’ really impressed me. Nobody except Im chang-jung would be able to dance like that. I will always remain his big fan.”

Now this is  quite a long clip from the movie “Greatest Expectation” where Kim sun-ah and Im chang-jung drink together and find themselves in a funny situation next morning.

Next is the Im’s song Kim sun-ah recommended. Video quality is not so good which may be forgiven considering the song was popular back  in 1998.

This show, Jeol Chin Note, is a reality show that helps stars to get close to each other.  Famous stars seem to have everything they want and feel always happy but that is not true.  They are so busy that many of them don’t have chance to spend a good time with their good friends.  This show takes star’ requests and helps their relationships on air.

Dae-sung and Seung-ri want to get close to each other.  Fans assumed they might be like real brothers to each other since they spend time together everyday but it might not be true.  They were on the preview and Dae-sung shouted, “I knew we felt a little awkward but  I didn’t think this much!”  There must be some things that we don’t know much between them.  There are more private things about Bigbang will be revealed on the show and that interests many of their fans.  It will be on air 10:55pm the 13th. of Feb.

It was shocking to hear that a cute and young little girl like Tae-yeon chose a not attractive, mature comedian like Hyung-don (Sorry, man).

She explained that she has liked him ever since she was in her middle school.  She dreamed to meet him while she was watching his show on TV.

Actually he was much funnier and fatter back then.  He was called himself Gallery Jeong and painted his bare belly to make people laugh.  It was pretty good as I remembered and that brought him to a well known comedian.

They looked a very unbalanced couple and I don’t know how they draw viewer’s attention.  Tae-yean is a member of an idol female singing group, Girls Generation.  She has a such a beautiful voice that she sings in solo at Beethoven Virus OST, Can you hear.  I think we will have more opportunity to hear her pretty and clear voice in many wonderful songs.

Hyung-don appears many different variety shows including Muhan Donjeon (Ultimate Challenge) and We are just Married.  There are many critics saying that he is not as funny as used to be but it seems that he still has many chances to be on the shows regardless of their comments. 

I picked the song I like the most from Tae-yeon.  It is also a Du Rumi’s theme music in Beethoven Virus.  Please feel how clear and innocent her voice is.

Kim Hyun-jung, actor and singer, said he made about $100,000 from his part time work in Yashim Manman on the 26th.

He had done all kinds of part time jobs including chicken delivery from his 8th grade and never received allowance.  He unexpectedly confessed his past and got others’ attention.  He surprised guests by saying “I earned about $100,000 by doing part-time jobs

He also said that he opened a chicken joint with his kindergarten buddies and is still running it with them.  Once he talked about running a chicken joint when any of his friends succeed and he was the happen to be the one who kept the promise.

His partner made an interesting commercial line.  It was “I am your son if it is not delicious.”  That funny but effective line made everyone laugh in the studio.

He plays an important roll on the drama Boys over Flowers. His role,Yoon Jihu (Lui), is in the middle of love triangle between Geum Jandi (Gu Hye-sun) and Gu Jun-pyo (Lee Min-ho).  His role gets the most love from fans in all of the previous dramas and cartoon, and many stars wanted to be cast on his role.

It is the OST of Temptation of Wife, famous for many physical fighting and yelling scenes.  The OST, Can’t forgive you by Cha Su-kyung, is the miniature of the contents of the drama.  It makes you what to expect from it.  The story goes like from the wrongful meeting and farewell, and cruel revenge.

Can’t Forgive you, The OST of Temptation of Wife

Original Soundtracks were simply background music a few years ago but it has changed its role.  It contains the story and let people know what the drama is about.

Then how to make drama OSTs?  Let’s dig some secret from it.

? OST, How to be made?

It is planned when the synopsis is formed.  The production company hires a music director to decide the overall ambience.  The music director begins to make an OST based on the synopsis.  Music director and writer have to continually communicate because it must contain the filming purpose, performing direction, and story development.

Two or three scripts are ready one month before on air due to the schedule.  The script is a good reference for the lyric.  Especially the title music needs to reflect the content and its flow.  Choi Sung-jun music director, Walking Mom, Cain and Abel on SBS, said that main title music is made with easy melody and lyric to show the color of drama

The mastering work is completed before the first episode starts.  The OST is released when the third episode is on air but recently it can be released before the drama is on air to create the atmosphere.

? OST, How to make lyric?
The synopsis decides the lyric.  If the drama is based on adultery, the lyric is about a woman bearing a grudge.  If it is based on love, it is usually about stimulating feelings.

In East of Eden, MBC, there comes the music Are you listing by Lee Seong-chul when Dong-chul and Young-ran cry for they can’t be together.  The lyric says I will wait for you always although you forget me first.  This matches with the scene and moves the audience’s heart.

Can’t forgive you, the main title music of The temptation of wife, also contains its situation and helps its immersion.  The writer, Lee Kyung, explains that I thought about it in my point of view when I read the synopsis.  I wrote it using the second hand imagination.  Yu Young-sun music director said it seems to have a synergic effect when the lyric that all the women can understand and drama match together.

Recently making OST is so important that it can decide success and failure of the drama.  Writers definitely refer to the synopsis because the link between the two is significant.

? OST, How to choose the OST vocal?
Today many vocals participate drama OST as visiting vocals.  There is a distinct tendency.  Top vocals do mini series work and rookies do longer drama works.  What is the reason for that?  According to Director Yu, most of the mini series are made by outsourced productions.  They put lots of money to make huge scaled dramas.  Therefore they think selling OST as an additional profit.  Top vocals likely bring more profit.

However daily or weekend dramas are usually as long as 50 episodes and self made by the stations.  Thus right rookie vocals can have the opportunity because they care more of the voice and ambience than of profit.

Usually 5 or 6 vocals participate for an album.  Top vocals get two and rookies get three songs.  There are many singers want to participate the work after popularity of OST gone up.

? OST, The higher self-esteem
Today there are many well made OST albums due to the great musicians participating OST works.  The OST is introduced automatically when it is sold to overseas.  It is a good chance to show Korean music and contribute to create more Korean waves.

The profit out of OSTs are another good factor.  It costs about 100,000 dollars to make an OST album.  It is the same investment to make a music album but it will be quickly earned before the end of the episode if there reaches a good enough viewer’s rate.  On top of that, It will make a decent profit if the main title music is hit just like If by Tae-yeon or Are you listening by Lee Seong-chul.  These music made profit worth of the 2 or 3 episodes production cost. These are the main reasons why OST market is developing incessantly.

SHINee (Onyu, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, Taemin) was on the MBC Star Dance Battle and performed We are the future, a music H.O.T (Gangta, Moon Hee-jun, Jang Woo-hyuk, Tony Ahn, Lee Jae-won) from the second album.  They created a great response.

Each of them took H.O.T’s roles and handled the sing and dance parts well, such as Jong-hyun covered Gangta’s role and Tae-min took Jang Woo-hyuk’s role.

There were Girls Generation, Kara, 2PM, Super junior (Lee Tuk, Shin Dong, Eun Hyuk, Sung Min), Jewelry (Park Jung-ah, Ha ju-yeon), Kim Na-young, Kim Shin-young on the show.  They sang and danced along, and cheered as if the performance reminded the hottest days of H.O.T. 

Yet, SHINee lost closely the battle against 2PM.  Jae-bum from 2PM ripped his shirt intentionally during his performance.  That grabbed many audiences eyes.

The three couples just inserted to the show, We Are Just Married, has made positive impact on the new years day.
TNS Media Korea surveyed the viewer’s rate on the show on the 25th.  We Are Just Married went up to 11.9% from 8.7% from last week.  It was a good enough rate hike for the show to dive into the competition of variety shows on weekends.

The detailed variety show ranking and percentage rates on the same day were as follow.

1.  17.8% The Family is Here, SBS – Top ranked for 19 consecutive weeks.

2.  14.1% Happy Sunday, KBS2 – 5.5% dropped from the previous week of 19.6%

3.  5.9% The Goldmiss is Coming, SBS – Going down.

The new couples on the show were Tae-yeon from Girls Generation and Jeong Hyung-don from Ultimate Challenge, Shin Sung-rok and Kim Shin-young, and Jun Jin from Shinwha (Myth) and Lee Shi-young from Boys over Flowers for the new years day special.  These new couples could choose to continue or discontinue their partners but they all chose to be each other’s partners.  It was a good start and gave an entertainment for the first day of 2009 in lunar calendar.

The actor, Daniel Henney, was on The Family is Here.  He had Korean folk culture experience and gave the audience much fun.  The Two Days One Night members (Kang Ho-dong, Lee Su-geun, MC Mong, Lee Seong-gi, Kim C, Eun Ji-won) had a surprising event for the holiday in Beol Gyo, Jeolla Namdo.
