Lee jia will work with producer Lee Jang-su and play on an internationally producing drama. Producer Lee Jang-su is well-known for making famous Hallyu dramas, such as Stars to heaven, Beautiful Days, Love Story in Harvard, Winter Sonata, etc.
Lee Jiah has already brought up her recognition in Japan from Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi and she was cast as the main character, Wang So-jung. Ms. Wang is ulgy looking but an powerful and attractive editor at an animal magazine. Although she is so popular because of her witty talk, no one wants to go out with her. One day a really handsome looking man approaches and likes her but she soon realizes that he thinks she is beautiful because he can’t see well.
She will play two roles like Gwyneth Paltrow in the movie, Shallow Hal. The writer of My Love, Ugly is Ouishi Shizuka who is one of the top writers in Japan. It will be interesting to see how these two great but different countries’ producer and writer can come up with a drama that can related to the both countries’ viewers.
This telecinema project is a work with Samwha Production Korea and Japanese Asahi TV. It has 9 dramas and 2 episodes each. It will be all made until April and played from around June.
