Kang-ho and Young-ji had to leave their house after Choi Chi-su who had killed Young-ji’s brother, Kang-chul, noticed Kang-ho lived there with her.  He almost killed Chi-su but she stopped him for she knew she would lose him if he became a murderer.  They moved to a new place and the place is called Suam Gol or Suam Maul, the famous Picture Village in Chungju.

It became suddenly hot after shooting the drama.  It is the power of media for sure.  This place was the place for the refugees of Korean War, 1950 and had never been an attractive place ever since.  Because of this place was built so long ago for poor people, Chungju city had to rebuilt all those wooden plated houses to brick houses in 1970s.  Later, there were more facilities were built by the city but it is still an inconvenient place to live with too narrow roads and small and crammed houses to each other.

On Oct. 2008 a bunch of local artists including college students and Vietnamese and Japanese artists joined together wanted to blow the life through painting this village.  This place is too old and not so much useful that it would be redeveloped soon.  However there have been so many people who visited there really wished to postpone or cancel the plan and save this place to remember the old Korean villages.

I really think that art works can do amazing things.  Who would even think about this kind of old and poor place if there were no pictures on the walls and streets?  There are empty houses in there converted to art exhibits to show paintings and photos.  People are coming in to see this great change and take the unique scenes into their cameras.

I don’t know how often the artists change the pictures but they constantly put different paintings on the village.  I think it should be a nice place to visit when the weather is good and feel like to enjoy some arts outdoor.

Cane and Abel also will keep on doing their work there until next month.  On the 16th there were shooting some scenes spotted in front of Shinhan bank on Sungan road in Chungju. and another one in Chungju medical clinic.  If you are lucky, you might bump into your favorite stars like So Jishup or Han Jimin.  I wouldn’t mind to meet the gangs who tried to kill Cho-in before and will try to kill him again in there since they are not real killers.
